Houghton Lake is situated in Roscommon county in the middle of Michigan's lower peninsula. It is Michigan's biggest inland lake comprising of 22,000 acres of sandy bottom water and numerous weed beds supporting various species of fish including Pike, Walleye, Bluegill and Perch. The sandy bottom and shallow water depth at our shoreline is ideally suited for young children.

Houghton Lake offers plenty of attractions geared towards the year round enthusiast. Spring and summer recreation activities include fishing, sailing, golf and canoeing, while the fall and winter enthusiast can enjoy ice fishing, snowmobiling and hunting. The annual Tip-UP Town, USA winter festival occurs every year on the 3rd and 4th weekends in January. There are games and fishing contests for the entire family to enjoy.
